Lunch at The Ivy Soho Brasserie

The Ivy Collection is a sure favourite for any foodie in London. Serving a delicious selection of British dishes from The Ivy’s own extensive menu. You can be sure whatever you’re in the mood for, It will be of high quality. The service really is second to none which is why the chain holds so high in my expectations. My usual go to restaurant is The Ivy Chelsea Garden but I think I may have found a more accessible alternative!

The Ivy Soho Brasserie is on Broadwick Street, It is easily accessible and under a ten minute walk from Leicester Square and Oxford Street. It gets quite busy so I would definitely suggest you book in advance.

The only con with any of the Ivy’s is that the tables for two are sometimes a little on the small side. Although if they aren’t fully booked they’ll be more than happy to move you. Which is always a bonus for me as I tend to order a lot of food!

Because I decided to sign my life away to Dry January, I ordered a Virgin Passion Fruit Mojito and my friend had a Long Island Iced Tea. Although neither were on the menu, the well trained bartender was more than happy to create these delicious concoctions for us. I would usually opt for a glass of champagne or ask for their suggestion of a wine pairing to our meal choice.

Quick mirror selfie, whilst awaiting our feast!

And now on to the main event…

We may have ordered too much food for the two of us.. The table next to us definitely had food envy! However, I would definitely do it all over again!

We opted for the Zucchini Fritti for the table which was recommended by my sister Sarah (follow her on instagram!). I would recommend this dish to everyone. They’re so moreish and a perfect substitute to chips. If you haven’t tried these before, you’re definitely missing out! If you have tried these before, it should be your go to side dish for anything you choose!

We didn’t get a starter this time, instead we chose the Fish & Chips and Chargrilled Chicken Salad. The battered cod was succulent and came with two pieces, perfect for sharing. I was rushed with memories of being a child when I ate the mushy peas which were a perfect addition to the meal. The chips were great and went very well with the tasty Tartar sauce. I always order a salad when I go out for lunch and this one certainly didn’t disappoint. Three large pieces of well seasoned chicken breast expertly chargrilled leaving it juicy and flavourful.

For sides, we we had the Green Beans with Roasted Almonds and the Creamed Spinach with Toasted Pine Nuts. I have a solid love for green vegetables and these were both fabulous!

We both rolled out, very happy and well fed. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and I will definitely be back soon!
